Combining theoretical and practical education, this program merges a variety of approaches with hands-on experiences such as fieldwork and internships. The curriculum encompasses theoretical, methodological, and practical facets of cultural heritage research, protection, and management. Graduates emerge as well-rounded heritage experts capable of critically assessing and addressing complex issues. The program centers on nurturing the ability to assess tangible elements such as buildings, monuments, archaeological sites, and works of art, as well as intangible heritage like traditions, languages, and knowledge. Additionally, the curriculum addresses the realm of environmental heritage, exploring the intricate interplay between humans and nature. The program features two tracks:
- Academic Research and Protection of Cultural Heritage: This track focuses on in-depth research and safeguarding cultural heritage.
- Cultural Heritage Management and Policy: Geared toward those interested in management and policy aspects, this track equips students with skills relevant to working in diverse heritage organizations.

Entry requirements
In addition to meeting the general CEU admissions requirements, admission to the program necessitates a bachelor's degree in a field aligned with cultural heritage. This encompasses disciplines like history, art history and management, archaeology, ethnography, anthropology, architecture, landscape design, monument protection, environmental science, and management studies.
What else do you need?
- Two recommenders (your former professors, supervisors, employers, etc.). Ask them to write a letter of recommendation for you.
- Prepare your professional CV in any standard format. Please indicate also your language skills.
- Write a 1500-word project proposal (with an additional brief bibliography). Read the guidelines we have prepared.
